Description

Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a sweet and spicy Bang Bang sauce, these salmon bites are a delightful appetizer or main dish made easily in the air fryer.

For the Salmon:

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon (about 4 filets), skin removed, cut into 1-inch bites
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
  • ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

For Garnish:

  • Chopped chives

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the air fryer: Set the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and let it preheat while you prepare the salmon.

2️⃣ Season the salmon: In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the salmon bites and gently toss to coat them evenly with the seasoning mixture.

3️⃣ Prepare the Bang Bang sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth. Divide the sauce into two bowls, reserving half for drizzling after cooking.

4️⃣ Coat the salmon: Toss the seasoned salmon bites in half of the Bang Bang sauce until fully coated.

5️⃣ Cook the salmon: Working in batches, arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overcrowd. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon bites reach an internal temperature of 140-145°F (60-63°C).

6️⃣ Finish and serve: Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a plate and drizzle them with the reserved Bang Bang sauce. Garnish with chopped chives.

  • Crispier bites: For extra crispy salmon bites, spray a light mist of cooking spray on the salmon before air frying.
