Description
This easy Air Fryer Mahi Mahi recipe is a quick and healthy way to enjoy perfectly cooked fish with a crispy exterior and tender, flaky interior. With just a handful of simple ingredients, you’ll have a flavorful meal ready in under 15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 2 mahi mahi fillets (about 1 pound)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika)
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons garlic herb butter, divided
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat the air fryer:
Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat while you prepare the fish.
2️⃣ Prepare the fillets:
Rinse the mahi mahi fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Coat each fillet with olive oil, ensuring they are evenly covered.
3️⃣ Season the fish:
In a small bowl, mix the paprika, granulated garlic, black pepper, and kosher salt. Rub the seasoning mixture over both sides of the fish fillets.
4️⃣ Air fry the mahi mahi:
Place the seasoned fillets in the air fryer basket, making sure they are in a single layer without overlapping. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time, until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 137°F (58°C) and is cooked through.
5️⃣ Finish and serve:
Once cooked, remove the fillets from the air fryer and transfer them to a plate. Drizzle fresh lemon juice over each fillet and top with 1 tablespoon of garlic herb butter. Serve immediately for best results.
Notes
- Doneness check: Mahi mahi is done when it easily flakes with a fork and is opaque throughout. Be careful not to overcook to keep it moist and tender.
- Substitute: If you don’t have garlic herb butter, regular butter or a homemade mixture of butter with fresh herbs like parsley and minced garlic will work perfectly.
- Sides: Pair this dish with a side of roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
