Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 4 strips turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the pasta
Boil the elbow macaroni in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3️⃣ Prepare the meat mixture
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground beef, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
Add the chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes or until softened. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
4️⃣ Add the seasonings
Stir in the cooked, crumbled turkey bacon, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
5️⃣ Combine with pasta
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the beef mixture. Pour in the milk and stir well to coat everything evenly.
6️⃣ Assemble the casserole
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top.
7️⃣ Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
8️⃣ Cool and serve
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the cheesy, hearty goodness!
