Perfect for game day, a casual dinner, or when you’re feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
4 hoagie rolls, hinged (do not cut all the way through)
½ lb deli chicken ham
½ lb salami
½ lb roast beef or cooked ground beef
¼ lb sliced pepperoni (optional)
8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
½ cup pickled banana peppers or pepperoncini
½ cup sautéed onions (optional)
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through — they should open like a book.
Layer the meats into each roll, starting with slices of chicken ham, then salami, roast beef, and optional pepperoni.
Place two slices of cheese on top of the meats in each sandwich.
Add banana peppers and sautéed onions if using.
Arrange the sandwiches on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush the tops of the hoagie rolls with melted butter and sprinkle generously with Italian seasoning.
Cover the sandwiches loosely with foil and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the fillings are hot.
Uncover and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes to crisp and brown the tops.
Serve immediately with chips, olives, or a fresh side salad.
Notes
You can customize these with your favorite deli meats or add a swipe of mustard or mayo inside the roll before baking. These sandwiches reheat well in a toaster oven for a quick next-day lunch.
