Description

Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet is a delicious and comforting one-pan meal that combines the classic flavors of a cheeseburger with the heartiness of pasta. This recipe brings together browned ground beef, melty cheddar cheese, savory seasonings, and perfectly cooked pasta in a rich, flavorful sauce. With minimal preparation and cleanup, it’s a family-friendly dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or whenever you’re craving a comforting, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces macaroni noodles
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal Steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons mustard
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook your noodles. Drain and set aside.
While the noodles are cooking, heat a large skillet (12″+) over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil then the diced onion. Sauté until soft.
Add the ground sirloin, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, Montreal steak seasoning, and garlic. Break apart the meat and cook until no longer pink.
Add in the ketchup, mustard, diced tomatoes, and 1.5 cups of the shredded cheese. Stir together until fully combined.
Pour in the cooked noodles and stir to combine.
Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top, cover with a lid, and turn heat to low. Once the cheese is melted, it’s ready to serve.

Notes

  • Cheese Choice: Cheddar is the classic choice for a rich, cheeseburger flavor, but you can experiment with mozzarella for creaminess, pepper jack for spice, or gouda for a smoky flavor.
  • Pasta Selection: Use short pasta shapes like elbow macaroni, penne, or rotini. These shapes hold onto the sauce well, ensuring every bite is coated in cheesy goodness.
  • Customize the Dish: Feel free to add your favorite burger toppings such as pickles, diced tomatoes, or crispy bacon for extra flavor and texture. For a spicy kick, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes.
  • Healthier Options: Substitute ground beef with lean ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. You can also add vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or bell peppers to boost the nutritional value.
  • Make it Vegetarian: Use plant-based meat alternatives or beans like black beans or chickpeas to keep the dish hearty while skipping the meat.
  • Storage: This dish keeps well for 3-4 days in the fridge and can be frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat with a splash of water or broth to maintain the creamy texture.
  • Kid-Friendly: The familiar cheeseburger flavors and cheesy pasta make this a dish that’s likely to be a hit with kids,
