A lighter twist on a family favorite, this version of cheeseburger tater tot casserole uses turkey bacon for a healthier but equally delicious alternative. Perfect for busy nights or weekend gatherings, it’s easy to prepare and sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
- For the casserole:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 10.5 oz cheddar cheese condensed soup
- 8 oz sour cream
- ¾ cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 32 oz frozen tater tots (keep frozen)
- For seasoning:
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2️⃣ Cook the beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
3️⃣ Season the beef:
Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the beef. Stir to combine.
4️⃣ Prepare the creamy mixture:
Add the cheddar cheese condensed soup, sour cream, cooked and chopped turkey bacon, and milk to the skillet. Stir thoroughly to coat the beef evenly in the creamy mixture.
5️⃣ Assemble the casserole:
Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking pan. Add the frozen tater tots and shredded cheddar cheese. Gently mix with a spatula until evenly combined.
6️⃣ Bake:
Spread the mixture evenly in the pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden.
7️⃣ Serve:
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
