Description
This Chicken Cordon Bleu Stromboli is a fun and flavorful twist on the classic dish. Loaded with tender chicken, layers of smoky ham, and melty Swiss cheese, all wrapped in golden pizza dough, it’s the perfect weeknight meal or game day snack. It combines the comforting flavors of chicken cordon bleu in an easy-to-make, shareable format.
Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough, homemade or store-bought
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
6 slices deli ham
6 slices Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
All-purpose flour for rolling out dough
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, approximately 10×14 inches.
Spread Dijon mustard evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the mustard, followed by the ham slices. Evenly distribute the cooked chicken over the top and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log, tucking in the ends to seal. Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Mix the melted butter with garlic powder and parsley, then brush it over the top of the stromboli.
Using a sharp knife, make a few small diagonal slits across the top to allow steam to escape during baking. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
Let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a side of honey mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
You can use rotisserie chicken for a quick prep option. Feel free to swap out the Swiss for provolone or mozzarella if preferred. If you’re making this ahead, assemble the stromboli and refrigerate until ready to bake. For extra crispness, bake on a preheated pizza stone or steel.
