Description

These cream cheese chocolate chip cookies are incredibly soft and rich, thanks to the addition of cream cheese in the dough. With a buttery flavor and a tender texture, they’re a delightful twist on the classic chocolate chip cookie. Perfect for any occasion, these cookies are sure to become a new favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Cream the wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, and granulated sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3️⃣ Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and smooth.

4️⃣ Combine the dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until just combined.

5️⃣ Fold in chocolate chips: Using a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

6️⃣ Scoop and arrange: Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow room for spreading.

7️⃣ Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden while the centers remain soft.

8️⃣ Cool and enjoy: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Softened cream cheese: Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing and a smooth cookie dough.
  • Chilling the dough: For thicker cookies, you can chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
  • Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
