Creamy Chicken Gravy Over Rice or Noodles

  • Author: Sophia

Description

This comforting crockpot dish delivers tender chicken in a rich, savory gravy that’s perfect served over warm rice or egg noodles. It’s incredibly easy to make with just a few pantry staples and is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of chicken soup
2 cups water
1 packet chicken gravy mix

Optional Add-Ins
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper

For Serving
Cooked rice or egg noodles
Chopped parsley or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, water, and chicken gravy mix until smooth.

Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.

Cover and cook on low for 2½ hours, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

Remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred or dice it into bite-sized pieces.

Return the chicken to the gravy in the crockpot and stir to combine.

Serve the creamy chicken gravy over cooked rice or egg noodles. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead and reheated, and it also freezes well. For added flavor, stir in sautéed mushrooms or peas before serving. If the gravy is too thick after cooking, you can thin it with a splash of milk or chicken broth.
