Description
Crescent Roll Cinnamon Twists are a quick and delicious treat made with soft, buttery crescent dough, swirled with a cinnamon-sugar filling, and baked until golden. These sweet twists come together in minutes and are perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack. With a drizzle of glaze or served plain, they’re irresistibly flaky and flavorful.
Ingredients
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
For optional glaze
½ cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1 Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2 Unroll the crescent dough and press the seams together to form a single sheet. If using pre-cut triangles, gently pinch the edges together to create a smooth rectangle.
3 Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it evenly over the buttered dough.
4 Fold the dough in half lengthwise, pressing gently to seal. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into thin strips about 1 inch wide.
5 Twist each strip a few times and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
6 Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
7 If using glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the warm twists before serving or let them cool completely for a firmer glaze.
Notes
For added texture, sprinkle chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips over the cinnamon layer before folding and twisting. These are best enjoyed the same day but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore crispness. The glaze is optional but adds a classic sweet touch.
