Tender chicken breasts simmer slowly in a luscious sauce made with golden mushroom soup, cream cheese, and Italian seasonings, creating a melt-in-your-mouth meal that’s perfect to serve over delicate angel hair pasta. It’s an easy weeknight dinner that feels indulgent with minimal effort.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup butter
1 packet Italian dressing mix
1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup
1/2 cup chicken broth
4 ounces cream cheese
1 pound angel hair pasta
Instructions
1️⃣ Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot, arranging them in an even layer.
2️⃣ In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the Italian dressing mix, condensed golden mushroom soup, chicken broth, and cream cheese. Stir constantly until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
3️⃣ Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken in the crockpot, making sure each piece is well coated.
4️⃣ Cover the crockpot with a lid and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
5️⃣ About 20 minutes before serving, cook the angel hair pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
6️⃣ Serve the cooked chicken and generous spoonfuls of the creamy sauce over the bed of angel hair pasta.
Notes
For added flavor, you can sprinkle a little extra Italian seasoning or garlic powder into the sauce while it simmers. If you prefer a thinner sauce, add an extra splash of chicken broth before pouring it over the chicken. You can also shred the chicken once it’s fully cooked to create a more rustic, casserole-like dish. Pair this meal with a simple green salad or roasted vegetables for a well-rounded dinner. Leftovers reheat beautifully and make a great lunch the next day.
