Description
These Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and flavorful twist on traditional breakfast favorites. Juicy sausage links are wrapped in soft slices of bread, dipped in a cinnamon-vanilla egg mixture, and cooked to golden perfection. Perfect for a quick breakfast or brunch, they’re easy to make, portable, and absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
For the roll-ups:
8 slices of sandwich bread
8 cooked breakfast sausage links
Cream cheese (optional, for spreading)
For the coating:
3 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For cooking and serving:
1 tbsp butter (for greasing the pan)
Powdered sugar (optional)
Maple syrup (for dipping)
Instructions
1️⃣ Trim the crusts off each slice of bread and flatten the bread using a rolling pin. If desired, spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice.
2️⃣ Place one cooked sausage link at the end of each slice of bread and roll it up tightly, enclosing the sausage in the bread.
3️⃣ In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
4️⃣ Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter to coat the pan.
5️⃣ Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides, and place them seam-side down into the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden brown and cooked through.
6️⃣ Once done, remove the roll-ups from the pan and place them on a plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.
Notes
You can make these ahead and reheat them in the oven or air fryer for a quick breakfast during the week. For extra flavor, try using flavored sausage like maple or spicy, and you can add fillings like shredded cheese or jam before rolling for a fun variation.
