  • Author: Munil

Description

Banana Split Fluff is a quick and delicious no-bake dessert that captures all the flavors of a traditional banana split but in a creamy, fluffy form. Perfect for parties, potlucks, and summer gatherings, this dessert combines bananas, strawberries, pineapple, pudding, and whipped cream to create a sweet, refreshing treat. Topped with cherries, nuts, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup, it’s a crowd-pleaser that can be whipped up in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, with juice
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 3 medium bananas, sliced
  • 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • Additional toppings: maraschino cherries, additional nuts, chocolate syrup (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and the entire can of crushed pineapple, juice included, until well combined.
2. Stir in miniature marshmallows, chopped nuts, and mini chocolate chips.
3. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until everything is well mixed.
4. Add the sliced bananas and strawberries, folding gently to distribute evenly without breaking the fruit.
5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld and the salad to chill thoroughly.
6. Before serving, give the fluff a gentle stir and garnish with maraschino cherries, additional nuts, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup, if desired.

Notes

  • Making It Ahead: Banana split fluff can be prepared several hours ahead or even the night before. If making it early, add the bananas just before serving to prevent them from browning.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir gently before serving.
  • Customization Options: Feel free to swap out or add fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or mango. You can also experiment with different pudding flavors like chocolate or banana to create new variations.
  • Dietary Adjustments: For a dairy-free version, use coconut whipped cream and almond milk. For a lighter version, use sugar-free pudding mix and fat-free whipped topping.
  • Texture Tip: For a crunchier texture, add crushed waffle cones or graham crackers just before serving.
