Description

This creamy smoked sausage pasta is a comforting, flavorful dish that combines savory kielbasa with a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce. The Parmesan cheese and seasonings add depth to the sauce, making it a perfect pairing with your favorite pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz package of kielbasa, sliced into rounds
  • 16 oz box of pasta (penne, rigatoni, or your choice)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Dried parsley for garnish

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients
Slice the kielbasa into small rounds and measure out all seasonings. If using a block of Parmesan cheese, shred it before cooking.

Cook the Sausage
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the sliced kielbasa until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the heavy cream, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let the sauce simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.

Cook the Pasta
While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Combine Everything
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, stirring until well coated. Return the browned sausage to the skillet and mix everything together.

Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle dried parsley over the pasta before serving. Enjoy while hot!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or use spicy kielbasa.
  • If you prefer a cheesier sauce, increase the Parmesan cheese to ¾ cup.
