Description
Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp & Broccoli is a fast, flavorful dish that combines tender shrimp, crisp broccoli, and a rich sauce of honey, garlic, and butter. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and garlicky with a touch of tang, and it comes together in under 30 minutes. Serve it over rice, noodles, or enjoy it on its own for a light yet satisfying meal.
Ingredients
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cups broccoli florets
2 tablespoons butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
⅓ cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sesame seeds or chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes until just tender and bright green. Drain and set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice (if using), and a pinch of black pepper. Set the sauce aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the honey soy sauce mixture and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return the shrimp and broccoli to the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
You can use frozen shrimp, just make sure they’re thawed and patted dry before cooking. For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha to the sauce. This dish pairs well with jasmine rice, quinoa, or even rice noodles. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to keep them juicy and tender.
