Description
This Pizza Burger brings together two comfort food favorites—pizza and burgers—into one irresistible creation. Juicy beef patties are infused with Italian seasoning, layered with zesty marinara, gooey mozzarella, and crisp pepperoni, all served on a toasted bun for the ultimate handheld indulgence.
Ingredients
For the patties:
1½ lbs ground beef
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For assembly:
6 burger buns
6 slices mozzarella cheese
18 slices pepperoni
¾ cup marinara sauce, warmed
Butter for toasting buns
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1 In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined and form into 6 equal patties.
2 Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella on each patty and cover to melt.
3 In a separate pan, lightly toast the burger buns with a bit of butter until golden brown.
4 To assemble, spoon a bit of marinara sauce on the bottom bun. Place the cheesy burger patty on top, then add 3 slices of pepperoni per burger. Spoon over additional marinara if desired and top with the upper bun.
5 Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley for a fresh finish. Serve hot with fries, chips, or a side salad.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding sautéed mushrooms or onions under the cheese. You can swap mozzarella with provolone or use mini buns for party sliders. This burger can also be baked on a sheet pan for easy entertaining.
