Sweet Cinnamon Air Fryer Banana Chips

  • Author: Sophia

Description

These Sweet Cinnamon Air Fryer Banana Chips are the perfect crunchy snack with a warm, sweet cinnamon flavor. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they’re easy to prepare and a healthier alternative to traditional chips. The air fryer gives them a wonderfully crispy texture without the need for frying in oil, making them a guilt-free indulgence. With the natural sweetness of ripe bananas and the cozy aroma of cinnamon, these chips are sure to be a hit for both kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

Scale

2 ripe bananas, sliced thinly (use a mandoline slicer for even cuts)
1 tbsp melted coconut oil (or olive oil spray)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
12 tbsp granulated sugar (optional; omit for a no-added-sugar version)

Instructions

Prep the Bananas
Slice the bananas into thin rounds, about ⅛-inch thick. Pat the slices dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture—this step is key to ensuring they become nice and crispy in the air fryer.

Coat with Cinnamon Sugar
In a bowl, toss the banana slices with melted coconut oil, making sure each slice is well-coated. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (if using) and gently toss to coat the banana slices evenly.

Air Fry
Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Low heat helps prevent the banana slices from burning while allowing them to crisp up perfectly. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket—be sure not to overcrowd them. Cook for 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the banana chips are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them as cooking times can vary depending on your air fryer model.

Cool & Serve
Allow the chips to cool completely. They will continue to crisp up as they sit. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days—if they last that long!

Notes

For a fun variation, try adding a pinch of sea salt after air frying for a sweet-and-salty twist. You can also experiment with different spices like nutmeg or allspice for a unique flavor. For a no-sugar version, simply skip the sugar and enjoy the natural sweetness of the banana paired with the cinnamon. These banana chips also make a great topping for yogurt or oatmeal!
