Nougat Layer
- 1 cup marshmallow fluff
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
Caramel Layer
- 1 ½ cups Kraft Premium Caramel bits or caramels unwrapped
- 1 tablespoon milk of choice or heavy cream
Peanut Layer
- 1 cup dry roasted peanuts or salted peanuts or nuts of choice
Candy Bar Chocolate Layer
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips I used 1 cup milk chocolate chips & ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- ⅓ cup peanut butter or almond butter
Instructions
Brownies
-
Prepare brownie batter according to package directions using a 9 x9-inch pan and cool the brownies completely.
Nougat Layer
-
In a medium bowl, combine the marshmallow fluff and the peanut butter with a rubber spatula or hand mixer until well blended.
-
*Helpful Hint* Put the fluff nougat mixture into the microwave for 10 -15 seconds to make it easier to stir and spread. Spread the nougat fluff mixture on top of the cooled brownies in an even layer.
Caramel Layer
-
Microwave the caramel in a medium bowl with the milk/cream for 1 minute or so. Whisk, then heat for an additional 30 seconds or until smooth and melted.
-
Pour and spread the caramel layer evenly on top of the fluff nougat layer.
Peanut Layer
-
Immediately sprinkle the peanuts on top of the caramel and barely press them into the caramel.
Candy Bar Chocolate Layer
-
Melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave and stir every 30 seconds until smooth and melted and whisk until well incorporated.
-
Pour chocolate layer over nougat layer and let brownies layers set before cutting them.
Notes
- Customizing the Candy:
While Snickers bars are the star of this recipe, feel free to get creative with other candy bars! Twix, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, or even Kit-Kats can be swapped in for a new flavor experience. Mixing different candy bars can also add a fun twist. - Keeping Snickers Chunks Intact:
To ensure the Snickers pieces don’t melt too much in the brownies, you can freeze the Snickers chunks for 10-15 minutes before folding them into the batter. This helps them hold their shape during baking and ensures that each piece offers a perfect bite of Snickers goodness. - Brownie Texture:
For those who prefer a more fudgy brownie, be sure to avoid overbaking. The brownies should be set around the edges but still slightly gooey in the center. If you prefer a more cake-like texture, bake them a few minutes longer. - Serving Suggestions:
These brownies are delicious on their own, but for an extra indulgent dessert, serve them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce. They also make a fun dessert bar option for parties or potlucks. - Storage Tips:
Store these brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You can also refrigerate them for longer freshness or freeze individual squares for a quick dessert any time. To reheat frozen brownies, microwave for 15-20 seconds to restore their fudgy texture. - Boxed Brownie Mix Option:
If you’re pressed for time or prefer a shortcut, you can use a boxed brownie mix. Follow the package instructions and simply fold in the chopped Snickers chunks or layer them in for a quick and easy version of this recipe. This option provides the same great taste with less prep time.
